Questions
- Is this real jazz?
- Not in the strict sense. Purrple Cat makes jazz-influenced lofi: jazzy seventh and ninth chords on keys and guitar, soft swung drums and warm bass, all original. If you want a live trio, look elsewhere; if you want relaxing, jazzy background music, pull up a chair.
- What is “chord colour”?
- A 0 to 100 score measured from each track’s audio: how often the harmony uses rich, extended chords (sevenths, ninths and so on) instead of plain triads. Higher means jazzier-sounding harmony.
- Can I use this music?
- Yes. Every track is a Purrple Cat Self Release under CC BY 4.0. Free to use with credit on all social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook, X and more), and livestreams are fine. Neither the music nor remixes, samples or covers of it may be uploaded to music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, because that causes false Content ID claims.
- Can I download the songs?
- Yes. Every record has an MP3 link, and each shelf has an M3U playlist.
- Is it good for studying or working?
- Yes. Everything is instrumental and steady, so it sits behind reading, writing or a quiet coffee.
